Fort of Santa Maria da Arrábida
The Santa Maria da Arrábida Fort was built in 1670 and is a small maritime fortification of baroque architecture in the reign of D. Pedro II, whose function was to reinforce the defense of Portinho and of the Arrábida Convent.

Castle of Sesimbra
The Moorish castle of Sesimbra was one of the first victories for the Christian conquest of Portugal over the Moors in the 12th century and its strategic positioning was important for the defence of early Portugal. On the top you will find a stunning panoramic views over Sesimbra and the surrounding coastline. Inside the castle there are extensive battlements and a pretty church.
